Our Mission

The Section of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center has the major mission of teaching the art and practice of Infectious Diseases, a subspecialty of Internal Medicine. The Section is committed to research and patient care. A major emphasis of Section training responsibilities includes providing an excellent Fellowship Program in Infectious Diseases. This program's major goals are to: graduate physicians well trained in both the art and practice of Infectious Diseases; provide opportunities for bench and clinical research; and to provide the framework for a continuing intellectual interest in Infectious Diseases on the part of the Fellows.
