Fellowship Training Program

Description of the Program:

The Fellowship Training Program is based in the Infectious Diseases Section in the Department of Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. The Program is two years duration with an emphasis on training in clinical Infectious Diseases. Candidates for training must be board eligible or certified in Internal Medicine.

The major training sites include University Medical Center and the Southern Arizona Veteran's Affairs Health Care System. Fellows rotate through the Pediatric Infectious Diseases service on elective.

The major focus is on outpatient management, inpatient consultations, and home health care management from all medical and surgical disciplines. Outpatient experience is also provided giving general Infectious Diseases training and HIV experiences through the various clinics and the Ryan White clinics at UMC and University Physicians Hospital.
